Director of Campaigns

San Francisco, California, United States Contract Allows remote

PL+US has one crystal clear mission: Winning high-quality paid family leave for everyone in the U.S. We want it done by 2022. To get there, we’re building an incredible team of campaigners and advocates, to run and win local and national campaigns that build towards the big goal -- a high-quality national policy.

The Director of Campaigns Role - Six Months, Temp-to-Hire

The PL+US Director of Campaigns runs the team that builds the people power necessary to win paid family leave for everyone in the United States. That means creating high-profile national and state campaigns around flash-point moments, like the Presidential election, and developing an organizing strategy for advocates to mobilize at those critical moments.

We’re currently hiring for a six-month contract to cover a staffer going out on -- yep, you guessed it! -- paid family leave. If the fit is right, there’s a high likelihood this role transitions into a permanent position.

Priority will be given to applicants in the San Francisco Bay Area, where PL+US is headquartered, but remote applicants will certainly be considered.

Top 5 Reasons to Work at PL+US

  1. You Care.  Giving all Americans the chance to take care of their families means something to you. Maybe you have kids, or aging parents, and know the struggle firsthand. Maybe you can envision the healthier, fairer world that paid family leave can bring. Whatever your reason, our mission speaks to you, and you’re yearning for a workplace filled with people, like you, who actually care.
  2. We Care.  PL+US takes care of its staff. Not just with good pay and benefits, but with the understanding that you have a life -- maybe a complicated one -- and that you need to balance that life with your work. Caring for family and self is core to our mission. We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk.
  3. You Want a Win.  This is an opportunity to be part of a big, bold victory at a national scale. It’ll be hard work, but it’ll feel great to notch a huge win on your belt -- and it’ll look great to whoever wants to hire you next.
  4. You Want to Learn.  From our senior leadership on down, we’re constantly improving our craft and getting better at what we do. Professional development never stops. We want our staff to walk out of PL+US ten times more effective than when they walked in.
  5. You Want a Team.  Not just a group of people who work together. You want a team -- co-workers who’ll have your back, who support each other, and who put the mission before their own egos. That’s PL+US. If that’s the kind of team you want, we want you back.
