In this role you will be the primary support for staff and board in their fundraising activities. This position will anchor the much needed administrative support for the department, tracking all donors/prospects and next steps. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage PL+US donor database, develop appropriate reports and dashboards and ensure the timely and accurate maintenance of our donor and donation data. 
  • Working with our Finance Director, produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on development goals and progress.
  • Process donations and gift acknowledgement letters accurately and in a timely manner and assist with fulfillment of donor and sponsor benefits
  • Implement year end fundraising and annual fundraising and appreciation campaigns through mailings, donor recognition, and campaign correspondence
  • Maintain and support PL+US presence on third party fundraising platforms.
  • Manage relationships with vendors like Square and ActBlue. 
  • Research and source new potential donors, maintaining a comprehensive list of individuals to develop and cultivate
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events including donor briefings, small cultivation events, house parties, and two annual events.  
  • Draft on-going donor and prospect correspondence
  • Research prospective foundation and institutional funding opportunities to develop and expand a strong grant pipeline
  • With the Deputy Chief of Staff, track grants and institutional funder deadlines, and pull data for reporting purposes
  • Provide central coordination and tracking for all development activities 
  • Provide direct support to the leadership team on all fundraising activities
  • Schedule donor meetings, phone calls, travel, etc. for fundraising principals 
  • Prepare materials for meetings and produce follow-up materials as required
  • Research foundations and individual prospect. Compile background information and briefing memos as needed
  • Assist in the assembly of foundation reports and proposal submissions
  • Create regular fundraising reports as needed
  • Send out donor communications and ensure a timely schedule of outreach 


  • 3-5+ years administrative experience, preferably in a Fundraising/Development Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce, EveryAction or other fundraising database preferred.
  • Strong computer skills: Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), etc.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with proven time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Proven experience coordinating and executing events

Salary and Title:

This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience, plus generous benefits. 

Location: San Francisco, Bay Area.
